Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos
Fatima’s local Faith and Pilgrimage tells the story that “a lady brighter than the Sun” appeared to three children. Visit the imposing neoclassical basilica that stands in the heart of the Sanctuary of Fátima and the tombs of the three Shepherds there inside.
On the way to Nazaré, the most typical village and beach of Portugal with its traditions and fishing gear with the majestic promontory. Also known by the giant wave of Garrett McNamara, who in November of 2011 surfed on the beach of the North, in Nazaré, a wave with 78 feet (23.77 meters). You can have lunch at the famous fish stew and eat some delicious roasted sardines.
We then go to Óbidos medieval village one of the most picturesque and well preserved of Portugal. Within walls, we find a castle and a maze of streets and white houses that enchant. Between Manueline porticoes, flowered windows and small ladders, you have to stop to drink a Ginjinha (regional liquor) in a glass of chocolate.

FÁTIMA, ÓBIDOS & NAZARÉ

FÁTIMA
This portuguese city is well known as a religious place for Cristian pilgrims and its world-wide fame is due to the report of apparitions of the Virgin Mary reported by three little shepherds from 13 of May until 13 of October of 1917. This series of apocaliptic visions and prophecies became known as Fatima’s Secret!
The Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima became one of the most important international destinations for religious tourism, receiving around six million people per year!

ÓBIDOS
This was an important village for the defensive strategy of the portuguese lands idealized by the Templars and today we can apreciate its medieval beauty in the castles, streets and many activities including the ‘Mercado Medieval de Óbidos’ in 2018 will be between July and August.
This historical recreation event turns Óbidos into the privileged stage to experience the medieval world lived a long time ago in The Portuguese Kingdom!

NAZARÉ
Nazaré evolved from a fishing village to a village dedicated to tourism that apreciate specialy the culture of its hard working people that, as us, love the Atlantic Ocean and Respect it!
Nowadays the great tourist attraction is brought because the ‘McNammara effect’… well, Garrett McNammara surfed a colossal 33 meters, in the ‘Praia do Norte’ and put Portugal in the ‘Big Waves Map’ for surfers around the world!

FAITH

GINJINHA
The creation of fruit liqueurs dates back to ancient times and places, where they were thought of as medicinal or in the cure of various evils!
Today we can enjoy this ‘elixir of the gods’ and now, thanks to the influence of the International Chocolate Festival, this drink is served in cups or small cups of chocolate!

MEDIEVAL
Óbidos is a medieval village surrounded by the castle walls, and keep the original layout in its narrow streets,whitewashed houses with blue or yellow bars where their balconies stand out by the color and scent of the flowers carefully placed by the population!
